Know Before You Go:
The Agricultural Museum of South Carolina is located at 120 History Lane, Pendleton, SC 29670. We are right across US 76 from Tri-County Technical College and near Woodburn Plantation. The Museum is also home to Iron Oak Barn, a turn-of-the-century barn that now acts as an event venue for the Museum, and the South Carolina Century Farm Program.
The Museum is open for self-guided tours Thursday through Saturday, 10am-4pm. Group or special tours are available by appointment. For more information contact Curator Josh Johnson at 864-646-7271.
The Museum is open to people of all ages and there is something for everyone, from farmers to those who have never been a part of agriculture before. However, please note that some exhibits discuss sensitive topics (i.e., tobacco and slavery) so we recommend parental guidance for children under 13.
ABOUT OUR EXHIBITS
The Agricultural Museum of South Carolina has 8 permanent exhibits inside: The Barn, The Home, Black History, Tobacco, The Field, Native Americans, Century Farms, Meat Production/BBQ, and The Future of Agriculture.
The Museum also has outside exhibits: The Schoolhouse, Pigpen, Granary, Corn Crib, Tractor Shed, Garden and multiple large antique farm machinery. We permanently house our rescue hogs, Meadow and Lilly, at the Museum, and we host various farm animals for group tours and special events.
