Outdoor Exhibits
THE SCHOOLHOUSE
An early 20th century schoolhouse built in Brasstown Valley of Oconee County, this exhibit is a perfect spot for mock classes from over a century ago. A favorite spot for school tours, this building was disassembled and rebuilt at the Museum in 2015.

THE PIGPEN
Home to Meadow and Lilly, our two rescue hogs, this exhibit features a saddle-notched log barn, typical to 1800s farms in the Upcountry.

THE GRANARY
This late-19th-century granary was used to store grain for generations. Moved to the Museum in 2014 from Oakway in Oconee County, it now houses our historic woodworking demonstration area.

THE CORN CRIB
A very simple “skinned pole” structure, the Corn Crib was moved the museum in 2013 and interprets the history of corn cribs and their place on the family farm.

THE TRACTOR SHED
Featuring a number of tractors from across the 20th century, this exhibit is named in honor of Sam Pierson, who donated many of the pieces.

THE GARDEN
This permanent feature is a garden installation featuring typical South Carolina garden varieties for both spring and fall home gardening.
