Meet Our Team

Our Museum Director, Les is an Oconee County native with a passion for South Carolina history, particularly the Appalachian region of the state. A preservationist at heart, he has led many projects aimed at saving historic agricultural buildings now on display at the museum.

A former AmeriCorps Vista with a background in anthropology, Jordan is in charge of the Museum's main fundraising source, our beautiful restored event center, Iron Oak Barn. She is also our museum gardener, with an eye on education and museum events. 

Josh, originally from Oconee County, has been working in South Carolina Museums since 2012.  Josh has a passion for history and preservation, particularly in the Southern and Upcountry regions. 

Kevin Thompson has been a lifelong historical reenactor, demonstrator and has been a professional blacksmith for a number of years. He began teaching blacksmithing classes in 2019, and now spends the majority of his time passing on the craft of traditional blacksmithing.
